the stupidest thing ever

I was so stupid that I believe in a random ad on the internet claiming they have this antenna to boost up the internet connection speed. It was so expensive, well.. for a "cannibal" assemblies, as my friend said, it is EXPENSIVE.

But then, after hours of installation, it turned out that it doesn't work well.And plus, it's so unpractical. My room gets like one of those scenes from THE SAW movie, messy! Wires are everywhere, it is a complete horror and sad

 But then I realize.. I guess it's fine. At least I have tried. And as I said before, I would rather have a life of "WELLS.." rather than "what ifs.." life. VIVA LA IDA!!

Bangka Bride and Groom

So, last week I went to a wedding a friend of mine, Pak Dadang. He is a charming and funny person, and kind. So I went there withthe whole team of my office. The wedding is simple compares to those weddings I've ever attended to back in Java island.

I meant, the dresses and the decorations are grand, but the food, the music and the people who come are completely strange to my taste.

I can't post the foods and the people who came there because it is not appropriate for me to click food or people pictures. But I took some picts of the wedding, here, enjoy!

Look at the girl behind me, that one of the "strange" outfit choosing to come to a wedding. Well, I'm not saying my style also appropriate, what is propriety anyway, who set the standard of it, but.. at least you don't wear t-shirt for a wedding. Ok, me also wear jeans for a wedding, hihi..

TUNG TAO TOAST AND COFFEE

Today the weather  is so hot in Bangka island.
And maybe because of that, we cldn't do our work well. After going to some governmental offices with zero result, finally we decided to hang out on the vintage Chinese coffee shop called Tung Tao.
 
I oreded tarik tea and cheese toast. The tarik tea  was nice, but the toast, bleh! Jakartan's toast is still way more better. No offense! But I did!

Smoking hot ME, I meant, the toast!  hahaha.. 

AHA! don't buy this! Don't buy this! It's too expensive and burnt!

It taste ok for toast with Rp15 thousands. Still I'm comparing with toast of mas-mas near my place in Jakarta.
 

So "Tung Tao" is one of the oldest food stall in Bangka Belitung Island, Papa and Mama Fang Tung Tao first opened their stall in Sungailiat, Bangka Tengah in the year of 1938.

The coffee shop-ing tradition is very popular here on this island considering the people like to gamble and drinking coffee. Yes, gamble with that domino cards.

The interesting part of this coffee shop-ing tradition in Bangka Belitung island is all of the ethnics, be it Chinese, Malay, or others, can blend together without race barrier. That is what I like about being here, people are united.

What??? Did I just say the word LIKE??? Well, maybe that's a good thing for me to start liking this place so I can enjoy it

It's me again..
finally, now I can get a brighter point of view on the matter of dealing with my boringness.
Well, in another words, now I know some new crazy stuff to do to fill the hollowness on my bitter heart.
Ok, so those things are, for example like:
1. Practicing my singing skill by singing karaoke from youtube video, this far, I can sing well on some Bruno Mars and Katty Perry.

Yes, you're not misread me, it is BRUNO MARS and KATTY PERRY! I am now one of those mainstreamers.
I'm no longer indie dead heads.

Whatsoever, I'm now starting to do things I think I will never do in my whole life such as:
2. Watching HOW TO videos from youtube, like: how to do exercise in simplest and the most effortless way, hehe..
 

3. Noting how many chickens I've had in a day because..
yeah, I'm soooo crazy about chickens, like I can eat a bucket full off fried wings by myself!
 

4. Getting along with my little friends group here on my little warm office.


5. Calling my mom often.
Well, I really wish all of those stuff will soon end. I want to get back to real life. To the hectic and buzy big city lifestyle. At this point, I like being in the traffic jam, I love the rudeness and ignorance of city people.

Actually.. there's somethin got me wondering..

Sebenernya gua ini jurnalis apa pencicip kuliner eksotis, soalnya, mostlysemenjak gua pindah tugas ke Babel, postingan blog gua isinya jadi soal makanan semua.
Yeah, whatseoever lah ya, yang penting gua hidup. And this is how I enjoy life

Ok, kali ini adalah chinese culinary, well.. sebenernya Chinese-Bangkanese culinary. Waktu itu gua makan MIE LUKOT di salah satu kios di pinggir jalan deket pasar. It was shabby stall but yeah it looks challenging, jadi gua memutiskan makan di sono. You see the menu is nailed on the pillar of the stall and fyi: SONGSUI is food based on pork.

Empiang. Kerupuk ikan dimakan pake sambel asam. NICE!

Itu adalah LEMPAH cukut or lempah tulang. Yea, seperti namanya, semua tulang masuk ke dalam sayur kuah santan kuning itu, ceker, kulit sapi, tulang sapi, ayam all kinds! Rasanya well.. asam, pedas, dan berlemak!

Desa Nelayan Kurau or Kurau fishermen village is located on the shore facing the Ketawai island in Koba, Bangka Tengah.

To get there it needs 20 km of travel from Pangkalpinang.

Mostly, the villager are the descendants of the Bugis  sailor that's why they are very tough people

Sometimes when we pass this village we can see kids are jumping then dive in the sea cheerfully from those boat houses. They are very good swimmer.

That is the Ketawai Island as the background.
